I have been making bowls for many years. In this series, once the bowl is cast, the stress of the process of its making fractures the once smooth symmetrical form it to the point of disintegration. Then I begin mending it, and as the open wounds are healed it regains its integrity. It is restored layer-by-layer, re-fired several times and polished. The final piece is symbolic of a reverence for life, honouring the journey, of working constructively with what comes our way. These bowls reflect the cycle of renewal and regeneration, physically, mentally, and spiritually.
